Yesterday we were visited by Green Calgary to learn all about the different types of renewable energy found in Canada. Gerald, who is part of the Arusha centre, taught us the difference between renewable and non-renewable sources and challenged us to make our own individual Ecopledges. How can we be more energy conscious in our daily lives? The grade 3/4's can use this new information to investigate how access to renewable energy sources can effect a person's quality of life. Grade 5/6s students used the Powering our World program as a great jumping off point to investigate electricity. We have energy meters to test how much energy objects in our daily life consume, and how much energy it actually takes to power electronic items such as our phones! The pedal power bike was sure a fun way to learn about energy production! Thank you Green Calgary!
